Demakos Nomasdina (pronounced day-MAH-koess noe-mahss-DEE-nah ) is a member of the First Class of Tharios. He is a mage and works for the Tharian police force to investigate murders magically. However, there is only so much he can do because Tharian custom to cleans all traces of death also erase magical traces he could use to find a murderer. Only a few months after Dema started working as an investigator he is assigned the case of the Ghost, who kills yaskedasi and displays their corpses in public places, thus causing great mayhem in the city. The ritual cleansing makes it impossible for Dema to find the killer. However, he finds a lead through Kethlun Warder, whose ambient magic with glassblowing and lightning creates glass globes which show the most recent murder scene. With the help of Keth Dema finally finds and arrests the Ghost, a prathmun, and makes himself a name as investigator mage.

Dema only appears in Shatterglass.
