Training for Knighthood
He started page training in the autumn of 451 HE, the year before Keladry of Mindelan. Two of his year-mates included Yancen of Irenroha and Balduin of Disart. He sponsored his kinsman, Merric of Hollyrose on the grounds that kinsmen should stick together. He later became friends with Kel and supported her and Nealan of Queenscove in their anti-bullying campaigns against Joren of Stone Mountain, Garvey of Runnerspring, Vinson of Genlith and Zahir ibn Alhaz. He was a member of Kel's study group, and worked on classwork in Neal's room with the other boys until the group moved to the library after the arrival of Owen of Jesslaw, as Kel wanted to make sure the library was safe for other pages to use. In the stables one time, when Faleron asked Kel for help in math, Garvey of Runnerspring made a crude joke about Faleron "having" Kel whenever he wanted her. When Faleron went to retaliate, Kel stopped him and calmed him down. Neal picked a fight anyway, to show Garvey and Joren that comments like that can go both ways. During a camping trip with Lord Wyldon and the other pages, Faleron was tasked with leading a group. The pages stumbled upon a bandit camp, which was kept secret by the district due to a payoff, and were chased to a rock wall and cave. Faleron froze and handed the command to Kel, whom he recognized as the more coolheaded leader. Later, he was embarrassed about his performance and groaned whenever anyone mentioned it, especially when it was talked about it between Kel, the king, and Lord Wyldon.
Faleron became a squire in 455 HE, although the identity of his knight-master is unknown. He became a knight by passing the Ordeal in 459 HE.
Knighthood & The Scanran War
Faleron was deployed for the Scanran War from its beginning in 460 HE. He traveled north with his friends from his page years, including Kel, Neal, Merric, Seaver of Tasride, and Esmond of Nicoline, as well as Raoul of Goldenlake, the Commander of the King's Own and the Lioness. He was not assigned to Kel's refugee camp, Haven, unlike Kel, Neal, and Merric, but to a different location. Faleron was stationed at Frasrlund during the war. When Haven fell, Faleron was one of the knights who planned to go find and help her. Faleron, Neal, Merric, Seaver, and Esmond joined up with Kel in order to find her refugees, kill Stenmun and Blayce the Gallan, and bring everyone back safely to Tortall.
Faleron is described as being dark and handsome, with probable Bazhir ancestry.
As shown in his dealings with Kel and her friends, Faleron is honorable and trustworthy. Although far slower to anger than his kinsman, Merric, he still has a temper when things cross the line, like when Garvey goaded him for only being nice to Kel so he could sleep with her.
