Father Universe is one of two of the First Powers, ancient beings that are part of the Tortallan Universe pantheon. Father Universe is worshipped or recognized in many cultures. In K'miri mythology, Father Universe is called Father Storm. Father Universe is probably recognized by the Banjiku tribes of Carthak as well, as they say one of their main gods, Kidunka, is the First Powers' firstborn son.

According to many cross-cultural myths, Father Universe created the galaxies, the different realms, the worlds, and shaped the universe to what it was. His counterpart, Mother Flame, created light, the stars, and death. Together they created the Great Gods and Uusoae.
Immortals War
During the council of the gods in 452 HE[1], he and Mother Flame are called on to settle a dispute between the Great Gods and Uusoae.
After Daine kills Ozorne in the Immortals War, she is transported to the Divine Realms where Father Universe and Mother Flame punish Uusoae for what she has done. They imprison Uuosae in a cage of dead matter (his contribution) and starfire (Mother Flame's contribution) until the next star is born.
