Fern Cooper was the grandmother of Rebakah Cooper on her father's side. Her daughter-in-law was Ilony Cooper, who died in 244 HE. Fern's grandchildren included Beka, Diona, Lorine, Willes and Nilo Cooper. She lived in the Lower City of Corus and used to teach Beka how to use her magic with the pigeons and dust spinners. Fern had a tomcat.[1]
Beka regularly visited Fern to help her with chores in the household and to go shopping for her. Beka also trusted her grandmother, telling her about her work and getting good advice from the older woman.
