Sir Glaisdan of Haryse (pronounced GLAEZ-dehn of HAHR-eez) is the captain of First Company at the beginning of Squire. When he met Kel he eyed her as if she were a rather disgusting beetle. However Domitan of Masbolle assured her that it was only because Glaisdan viewed nobles by their rank of nobility and whether they were in the Book of Gold or Silver.

Sir Glaisdan is said to be much more into the pomp and circumstance of the King's Own than the actual work. He is usually the one chosen to guard the king and queen on their events. First Company was sent to northern Tortall instead of Third Company, as a punishment to Lord Raoul. He died when he misread trail signs and led his party into a group of Scanran raiders.
