Gudruny Iarun was a woman living on the Landreg estates. In her youth she was considered quite pretty and flirtatious. Halmar Iarun kidnapped and forced her to sign a marriage contract according to Namornese custom. The only person with the power to free her from the contract was the clehame to whom the estates belonged, Sandrilene fa Toren. Before Sandry became clehame, Gudruny had attempted to plead her case before Sandry's parents, but neither of them listened to her long enough to hear her tale. Gudruny and Halmar had two children, a girl and a boy. Halmar repeatedly beat his wife and children. That's why Gudruny hid in Landreg castle once Sandry arrived there to plead her case in front of the noblewoman. Upon hearing her tale Sandry immedeately freed Gudruny and took her into her service as her maid so Halmar couldn't ever harm her again. Once Sandry returned to Emelan Gudruny went with her and remained as her maid.

So far Gudruny only appears in The Will of the Empress.
