Hakim Fahrar (pronounced hah-KEEM fah-RAHR) is a tribesman of the Bloody Hawk who initially speaks out against allowing Alanna to join. He fights her in her trial-by-combat and loses. Custom would have degreed for Alanna to kill him but she decides against it and thus saves his live by simply hurting him enough to make him incapable to continue the fight. He later joins the King's Own, and by Daine's time has risen to become one of their sergeants.

Hakim appears in The Woman Who Rides Like a Man and in Wild Magic.
