The Hall of Crowns was located on the ground floor of the Tortallan Royal Palace and had the sole purpose of being used for coronation ceremonies. Prince Jonathan of Conté was crowned King of Tortall in the Hall of Crowns in 439 HE, and it was the main site of the Coronation Day Battle. When the room wasn't being used, the windows were covered with heavy velvet curtains. The Hall contained wooden benches for the nobility, stone risers for merchants and guild masters, a dais and altar, and the City Doors that were opened during coronations to allow people of the city a view of the new king.[1]
