Halmar Iarun was a millar at Landreg. He was married to Gudruny Iarun and they had two children. Halmar didn't have a nice character; at first forcing Gudruny into signing the marriage contract and later being violent against her and their children.

He only appeared in The Will of the Empress, when he came to Landreg castle to demand that his wife was returned to him.
