- Kora: "Is he as handsome as they say?"
- Beka: "He's married to my friend. He's well enough in looks. Not that clever."
- — Koramin Ingensra and Rebakah Cooper the morning following Crookshank's raid at the Court of the Rogue, referring to Herun[src]
Herun Lofts is the grandson of Ammon Lofts. His mother is Annis Lofts and his wife Tansy Lofts. They have two children, Rolond Lofts, who is taken and killed by the Shadow Snake in March of 246 HE, and Joy Lofts.
Herun first met Tansy in the Daymarket. He went there together with his mother and Ilony Cooper, while Rebakah Cooper was there with Tansy.[1]
After Crookshank didn't meet the Snake's demands following Rolond's death the Snake took Herun to get Crookshank to pay after all. However, this strategy didn't work and the Provost's Guard had to find and free Herun. The Dogs involved in this were Matthias Tunstall, Clara Goodwin, Rebakah Cooper and Ersken Westover.
Herun is described as being quite good-looking, although he doesn't seem to be the brightest person[2]. He doesn't know how to keep his mouth shut, either, because Tansy doesn't trust him with keeping it quiet if their money consisted to a great part of false coin and rather asks Beka to help her check it. Tansy also describes him as hotheaded.[3]
