Imrah of Legann (pronounced IHM-rah of lay-GAHN) is a Tortallan nobleman and knight during the 5th century HE. He is the Lord of Port Legann.

Biography

Lord Imrah had been running Port Legann since at least the 420s and the Tusaine War.

During the Immortals War, Port Legann and Lord Imrah were crucial in the defense of Tortall. It was under siege for a long while, but Lord Imrah managed to hold out. This made him a hero. He took part in the decisive battle which was fought there, which left the Tortallans victorious.

In 454 HE, Imrah took Crown Prince Roald as his squire, and the king took a Bazhir, Zahir ibn Alhaz. This broke the royal tradition of the prince being a squire to his father[2]. Lord Imrah was also knight-master to Alan of Pirate's Swoop during Alan's page years.[3]

He seemed to have grown quite close to the Pirate's Swoop children, and both him and his wife are friends with the Baron and Baroness of the Swoop. Aly enjoyed spending time with them, which is one of the reasons she left the Swoop to go to Port Legann and was caught by slavers, who then took her to the Copper Isles.

In 457 HE, after the arrival of Shinkokami of the Yamani Islands, he and his wife attended the banquets and parties thrown by the monarchs at the palace. When Keladry of Mindelan hatched a plan to get the prince and princess talking—they were very reserved around each other at first—Imrah stayed for a long while. They talked mostly of battles and strategy, something Lord Imrah loved.

Personality and traits

At first, Lord Imrah seemed cruel to Daine, but he was actually very kind and surprised her by feeding his darking.

Appearances

Imrah appears in The Realms of the Gods and Squire but has also been mentioned in In the Hand of the Goddess, Page, and Trickster's Choice.
