The King's Champion is a position in the Tortallan Court. The Champion defends the King's law. He or she judges on important matters in the absence of the monarchs. When a noble is brought to the King to because of a serious breach of the law, he can demand a trial by combat. If so, the Champion fights for the Crown.

Under the rule of King Jonathan IV of Conté, Alanna of Pirate's Swoop and Olau holds the position of his King's Champion.
