Mai was a resident of Chammur and member of the Camelguts, a local street gang. She asked Briar Moss for his professional help as a healer when he and his teacher Rosethorn were staying in Chammur. She later joined the Vipers, like most of the remaining members of her gang, but didn't fare well with them.

She only appears in Street Magic.
