Lord Martin of Meron was the lord of the fief Meron, which was part of the Great Southern Desert and included the area around Persopolis and the Black City. He was also a member of the Council of Lords under the reign of King Jonathan.^[1]

Lord Martin was the father of Geoffrey of Meron, who was around Alanna's age.

He visited the Royal Palace while Alanna of Trebond was still a page. There he also watched one training session of the pages in sword fighting. When he returned to his fief he was accompanied by the squires, Alanna and Sir Myles.^[2]

Pressumably his first wife and mother of Geoffrey died because Lord Martin married Roxanne of Haryse in 441 HE. They had five children, two sons and three daughters.^[3]

In autumn of 451 HE Lord Martin was part of the Tortallan peace delegation that was sent to Carthak for negotiations.^[4]
