Miri was a trainee with the Queen's Riders when Veralidaine Sarrasri first came to Tortall as Onua's assistant. She was glad that Daine arrived since there were so many boys among the trainees. In the begining she was slightly scared of the horses having stated that the only thing she had ever ridden before was a boat.

She seemed to be good friends with Evin Larse, and asked Daine to bunk with her, which Diane agreed, although she later decided to move to a room on the ground floor instead to be nearer by her animal friends.

She only appears in Wild Magic.
