Nori (credited as Noria by Full Cast Audio) is the eldest girl in Oswin's house, and is very vocal and imposing. She thinks it her duty to protect Oswin, whether that be from the other rowdy children in the house, nosy mages, or being overworked by the townpeople. She, like the other children whom Oswin provides for, was made an orphan because of attacks on the pirates who used to live in the Battle Islands. In Melting Stones she is approximately seventeen years of age.

With long honey coloured hair, a small and delicate nose, and a fine figure, Nori is perceived as beautiful by Evvy, and is certainly admired by Jayat. Despite her lack of braun, Jayat says that Nori has quite a punch and he attributes this to her mother having been a pirate queen. This leads to the assumption that Nori's mother may have been Queen Pauha, who lead the raids on Winding Circle and was killed by Tris, although it may have been another pirate queen (though it is unlikely that there would be more than one at a time).

Despite her beautiful looks, Nori has a very prickly personality. She is blunt in her speaking, although does not speak outright insults without reason. While her top priority is Oswin, her second priority is taking care of the other orphans. In Melting Stones Nori is one of the antagonists against Evvy, but only because Evvy's treatment of Meryem made the other girl upset enough to run away.
