Notalos fer Hurich was the uncle of Finlach fer Hurich and the head of the Namornese mages' society, thus very influential. He helped his nephew in the plot to kidnap Sandrilene fa Toren and force her to sign a marriage contract by providing Fin with the charms he needed to keep Sandry's magic under control. The Empress, after learning of his involvement, had him arrested for high treason.

Notalos didn't appear himself in any of the novels yet, but he has been mentioned repeatedly in The Will of the Empress.
