Numbtongue is a substance that prevents people from talking. It's made with lavender and cloves and has a distinctive smell. It's barely legal, because while it can be used to prevent people from talking with broken teeth or jaws, it can also prevent people from shouting for help. The antidote is Loosetongue syrup. [1]
