Port Legann (pronounced lay-GAHN) is a fief in Tortall located on the southeastern shore of the Emerald Ocean. Like its name would suggest, it is a port city that brings plenty of trade to Tortall. It is south of Corus and Port Caynn, and is located near to the barony Pirate's Swoop.
The city was ruled by a noble family for centuries, dating back to King Jonathan I, the founding king of the Conté Dynasty. Jonathan I wrote Legann in the Scroll of Salute, along with Naxen, Queenscove, and haMinch. Jonathan I proclaimed that these houses were the Shield of Tortall. It is possible that House Legann was founded long before Jonathan I, and is in the Book of Gold, like Trebond.
During the 400s HE, Port Legann was ruled by Lord Imrah, the senior member of House Legann at the time. Port Legann was instrumental during the Immortals War and was under siege. Lord Imrah was able to hold out against it, however.

Port Legann has been the setting both in the beginning and ending of The Realms of the Gods. The city has also been mentioned at the beginning of Trickster's Choice, and is spoken of by Prince Jon of Conté in Alanna: The First Adventure.
