Revamp of the Main Page[]
If anyone reads this page, I'm looking into potentially updating the main page. It hasn't been overhauled or significantly updated since 2010, over a decade ago! It's using outdated code for the boxes, and they don't fit properly on the page if the page is anything less than full screen width. I think it would make more sense to have fewer vertically stacked boxes (to reduce the need for so much scrolling) and update the look to be more modern.
To me, the current Main Pages looks very dated and isn't incredibly appealing to bring in new members. I'm going to do some work on new navigation templates to include on this page and will put them up for a vote (if anyone is here to see them) for a period of no less than 2 weeks, before implementing the changes on the Main Page. All the old templates will be archived.

Main Page content[]
Somehow the Main Page looks a bit blank to me and I think it could do with some more content like
- a news box including e.g. scheduled release dates for new books or Tammy's appearances
- a Did you know ... section
- a quote of the month box
- perhaps even a featured article section, although it might be debatable if we have enough very good content for a regular change
The links to the books shouldn't take that much space. They would easily fit into a smaller box, which could then also include other links like protagonists. The links might also be good in the sidebar, which could do with some rearranging.
I'd like to get your opinions on this, though, before doing any change on the Main Page. --Purzel 08:15, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Trying to get backend stuff up and running[]
Hello! I'm a brand new user on the TP Wikia, and I thought it would be cool to add in some navbars for easy navigation, like Lostpedia has (I live there when I'm not anywhere else online). Imagine my surprise when I find out that TP wikia doesn't have all the nifty templates built into Lostpedia! Anywho, after trying to copy/paste the appropriate templates into TP Wikia for a half an hour, and not being able to get a sample navbar to work (Template:Nav-TortallGods), I finally gave up. If anyone has more experience with this kind of backend stuff, and would like to help me clean up my mess, please do so! I will give you cookies! Not really, but I'd really like to get this working. i love your books. you wrote Page, and Squire, and Lady Knight, and the books about Alanna right? ( i think i spelled alanna wrong) i love those books, they inspire me to write, myself. Once again i love those books, and i think you shood write another series like them.....=3!!!!!
- Just some clarification: This page isn't run by Tamora Pierce herself. As far as I know she isn't associated in any way to this site. We're just a bunch of fans who try to compile as much information about her books as possible.
