Because his parents were on a mission at the time George had to deliver him himself.[1] He was the older brother of Alan and Alianne of Pirate's Swoop, and the namesake of Thom of Trebond, his deceased uncle. Like his uncle, Thom was interested in his Gift rather than becoming a knight.

Through Aly, Thom had two nieces and a nephew: Ulasu Crow, Junim Crow, Ochobai Crow.

Thom had inherited the red hair of his mother and uncle[2].

So far Thom only appeared as a minor character in Wild Magic and Trickster's Queen.
