In the late 430s HE, members of the Tirrsmont family—namely Henrim of Tirrsmont—took part in the rebellion led by Roger of Conté and his followers, Alexander of Tirragen and Delia of Eldorne. Unlike Tirragen and Eldorne, Tirrsmont suffered no lasting repercussions in terms of their treachery. Sir Voelden even mocked Lerant of Eldorne for being part of a treacherous family, when members of his family also joined that rebellion.

Being a border fief, Tirrsmont would have been one of the main fort bases against Scanran forces during the war, and the castle—which would have been outfitted for siege and battle—would probably have been taken over by the Tortallan armed forces. Or it could have been used as a hospital, like Barony Trebond. Although it is possible, it is unlikely that it was used for such a purpose, as it seemed to be Coram and Rispah's choice to make it a hospital for soldiers, and knowing the Tirrsmont family, they probably would not have done something like that.
