Tkaa is a basilisk who came into the Mortal Realms when the barrier between them and the Divine Realms was destroyed by Carthaki mages. In Dunlath he met Veralidaine Sarrasri and Numair Salmalín and became friends with them. He helps Daine raise the dragon Kitten because he is knowledgable about dragons. Tkaa helped the rebellion against Yolane of Dunlath and her fellow conspirators against the Crown. While Numair and Daine were trapped in the Divine Realms, Tkaa watched over and took care of Kitten and aided with the Immortals War. Later he became a teacher for the Pages on Immortals and went to the  Copper Isles as an ambassador for Tortall.
