I just wanted to give you some information about the new features implemented by Wikia. As really love a system I'm going to do this chronologically, thus starting with the first new feature, which was already implemented some days ago, the new editor.
It can be quite useful, mostly for new users of the wiki to make it easier for them to edit. They don't have to know much about the needed code. This even allows them the use of some templates. So the new editor has its advantages and I admit that it's not that bad, especially for new members.
However, I myself don't like it very much and turned it off after some edits. It slowed the loading time of the edit window and complicated things pretty much for me. Experienced users are in most cases faster just typing the things needed by hand instead of using the new editor, who has also some trouble with special tags like the <ref></ref>-tags. As I'm using these pretty often and type quite fast I'm not currently using the new editor.
Everyone has to decide for themselves if they want to use the new editor. Right now it is enabled by default. If you want to turn it off, just visit your preferences and select the tab called "Editing". Then disable the first option, which is called "Enable Rich Text Editing". You'll find a detailed description of this new feature, including how to turn it on/off, here.
Although I'm not using the new editor myself feel free to ask me questions if you experience a problem with it. I'll see what I can do about it and forward any problems to the wikia staff so it can be fixed.
