Valden Chandler is a member of House Chandler and the father of its estranged member Trisana Chandler[1].

When Tris was young he and his wife gave her to other members of the family when they decided they could no longer control her and it was deemed that she had no magic. During her time with her parents she reporsatly sent gusts through the house and sunk her father into the ground when he punished her.[2] Being sent away caused her to become estranged from her father to a point that she wouldn't go home even after her cousin Aymery told her he was dying (It should be noted that the information was false).
