Yali was a yaskedasi, or female entertainer, in Tharios. She was a friend of Kethlun Warder and they lived in the same lodging house, Ferouze's. Yali was a very kind person and after the death of Iralima, another yaskedasi and inhabitant of Ferouze's lodgings, she looked after Ira's four-year old daughter, Glakisa Irakory. Yali was eventually murdered by the Ghost.

Yali and Kethlun had romantic feelings for each other, and a relationship may have blossomed had she not been murdered by the Ghost.

She only appears in the first half of Shatterglass.
